The Numbers in Tarot are symbols that can be viewed as worlds or dimensions in Tarot as shown below. The Major Arcana cards in the first tier of each dimension, rules the set of four Minor Arcana cards in the second tier. There are nine dimensions, and three ages to explore. The court cards (not listed below) expresses the evolution of The Fool from Page, to Knight, then depending on sex: Queen or King.
Dimensions[]
A dimension is a concept to describe an alternate world or reality, or possibly a plane of existence. The dimensions that the numbers in Tarot represent are merely reference points to help us, as humans, understand not only our own reality, but the possibility of another reality that exists behind a barrier or veil that divides us from "them". Who are they? They are every human label we've given them: spirit guides, angels, demons, the higher-self, aliens, the subconscious. What is certain, is that they are a superior intelligent consciousness separate from the human consciousness.
Dimensions are consistent with the enlightenment of duality — it is and it is not. The dimensions by which the Major Arcana guides represent, may not really be numerous or even numerical, but to help the human mind understand our world, and theirs, we need the numbers as reference points (Like a "paint by numbers" system). In the westernized culture of Kung-Fu, grades are provided in the form of colored belts to help the student realize his mastery in tiers and finally in degrees. However, in the reality of the ancient Kung-Fu masters of the Far East, they have not known such system, nor recognized degrees. A master became a master when it was time, whether they knew it or not.
