The Hermetica are Hermetic texts allegedly written by Hermes Mercurius Trismegistus, the deity Hermes-Thoth. They are a collection of Hermetic philosophy texts highly revered by Renaissance thinkers and accepted by the Catholic Church for 1,500 years. Literature is traditionally categorized as "popular" (those texts having to do with magic) or "learned" (those texts having to do with philosophy).
